This semester I will be performing a balancing act between several things. To list just a few of the things that I will balance successfully will be my family, school, moving, new puppies, and work. There will be several skills and characteristics that will be needed to succeed in this English course and all of my other courses.
I recently got engaged to the love of my life. Our daughter, Abigail, is a vibrant two year old that keeps me busy all the time. Abigail is a typical two year old that loves to do all sorts of activities and gets into everything. Also, I just found out that I am pregnant. Being pregnant things can be up and down all the time. So between doctors appointments, taking care of my daughter and house work, I will be very busy. On top of all that I help my sister periodically with her three kids. My dog is pregnant also and is going to puppies any day now. So when she does have the puppies that will be an added element into my balancing act. To balance all of this I will need good time management skills and patience.
I work a handful of days each month in the OB/GYN department at one of the local clinics in town. So, needless to say when I am at work it is very hectic. I need good time management skills and patience at work. I will be moving within the next couple of months. Preparing to move is a big duty in itself.
I just finished the two week wintermester at Tanana Valley Campus. Now I am taking this English class, quickbooks, and managing a small business class this semester. To have good time management skills I use a type of day planner to plan out my days. I put all of my appointments, class schedule, assignments and when they are due, when I do homework, and many more things in my day planner to keep me on track of what I need to accomplish. I outline the times that I have class, appointments, and when I do homework. I will also need patience in this course because I get frustrated easily when I don’t understand something.

Introduction
Hello everyone, my name is Hannah Preuss. I am currently live in the great Fairbanks, Alaska. I was born in Fairbanks, so that makes me a sourdough. I have done okay in English classes in the past but it has never been my strongest attribute. So I am a little nervous about this course. I hope to learn as much as possible out of this class that I can. I enjoy spending time with my daughter. She keeps me very busy because she is two years old and acts like she is three years old. I enjoy camping, fishing, rafting, scrape booking, photography, spending time with family and friends. Hope everyone enjoy reading a little bit about me. Have a great semester!
